In the midst of a successful career in law enforcement and private investigating, at the age of 47, Van was faced with heart surgery. At the advise of his cardiologist, Van was told to seek out a less stressful career. It was at that time that Van felt God lead to pursue a career involving his love for cooking.
With this career change, the company of Van Roehling Sauces and Rubs was created. Van takes pride that all the recipes are his own, with the exception of Original, which was his father’s recipe.
