- TFPJul 30, 2024, 11:48I stopped in at the Saltgrass restaurant in Texas 15 years ago and bought the seasoning after tasting the steak with it. Been buying it from here ever since. My husband loves this stuff and so do I. Great customer service and friendly people. I am a repeat buyer.
- AdamTXApr 17, 2023, 09:43The reviews do not lie, this is great seasoning! I picked it up locally since I have a Saltgrass nearby, but it was the reviews from folks here who convinced me to try it in the first place, so I thought I would pay it forward and share my own thoughts. Firstly, do home-cooked steaks come out tasting like Saltgrass with this seasoning? No, they do not, not at all. Whatever they do at the restaurant is probably trade secret. However, this seasoning really is an excellent blend in its own right. It isn't too salty (medium-low salt content compared to most seasonings), though I would still prefer a salt-free version so I have more control. So far, I have tried it on: Ribeyes (7/10), burgers (8/10), chicken thighs (9/10), and pork shoulder steaks (solid 10/10!). Everything grilled in the backyard over hardwood lump charcoal. On ribeyes, it is good, but I still prefer garlic salt and pepper, which is my go-to seasoning for nearly everything until I one day achieve the char-broiled steakhouse flavor that I'm forever chasing after. On burgers, this seasoning really gives home-cooked burgers a very distinct "restaurant burger" flavor, which I've always felt was hard to achieve at home - and quite good! Chicken thighs were excellent and I plan to make these again with this seasoning. And last but not least, the unexpected star of the show: pork steaks! Phenomenal. Seasoned with Saltgrass Seven and left overnight in the fridge to dry brine, smoked for a few minutes with red oak chips and then grilled up like a steak.. hands down the best pork steak I've had, bursting with flavor from the inside out. Follow my lead on that one if you like pork .. trust me! This seasoning is definitely one to keep in the pantry. Very versatile, with good balance of flavor (nothing overpowering). I'm excited to try it on more food.

Versatile
I would much prefer a salt-free version so I can add more or less seasoning to taste, and salt/brine food myself. - Rigo SanchezJan 28, 2023, 11:00I was very excited to find exactly what I was looking for. So thank you.
