Coy Howell survived the Great Depression and was a pastors wife, preschool director, avid gardener, seamstress, and mother of 11 children.  She had a love for life and joined all her children by walking the diploma line after having returned to college at age 52.  She cared for her oldest son, which had significant disabilities, until his death at 41 and provided care for her husband during a long, debilitating, life-ending illness. She was many things to many people.  All of which proved her to be the salt of the earth.
