Katy Sweet

Company founder Kay Carlton started KatySweet Confectioners in 1996 with a recipe passed down from her Cherokee grandmother to her mother to her. Kay spent several years developing the recipe for the commercial market without sacrificing the homemade taste. Her pralines are some of the few natural products on the candy market today. Using a two-kettle method to achieve a creamy praline, you'll never get a dry, gritty taste when you bite into a KatySweet Praline. And don't forget, KatySweet candy is still made to order, so it's always fresh!

Kay Carlton is a member of the National Women's Business Owners Corporation, Women's Business Enterprise Alliance, National Association for the Specialty Foods Trade and the Direct Marketing Association. A graduate of St. Edward's University, Kay is also active in the Texas Women's League. Gov. Rick Perry appointed her to the Lower Colorado River Authority Board in 2004 for a term that expires in 2009.
