In the spring of 2010, my brother Matt and I traveled to Jalisco--the Mexican state celebrated from the Río Bravo to the Yucatán for its mariachis, its soccer players, and its tequila.
Near the end of a day of sipping our way through the distilleries of the town of Tequila, we were served a margarita rimmed with a combination of salt, chile, and lime. I loved it instantly.
