Granarly

GRANARLY WAS BIRTHED DURING A DREAM IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT BACK IN 2015. IT DIDN’T REMAIN A DREAM FOR LONG…

Founder and CEO, Morgan Potts, hit the ground running with a dream she had to put whiskey in granola and call it Granarly. Call it irony, we call it divine — it was the week before a big college snowboarding trip she was going on! She whipped up a delicious whiskey baked recipe, bagged it up in little bags, and loaded it into her suitcase to share with anyone that would try it while out on the slopes in Colorado. “It’s whiskey! It keeps you warm and energized while you’re flying down the mountain” was her foundation for starting.

Fast forward a few months. After visiting the veterinary school in Grenada that she had been accepted to, she was more intrigued by the spice farms on the 14 x 14 mile island than looking for a new apartment. That’s when her dad reminded her to follow her heart and go after the thing she couldn’t stop thinking about, the thing that kept her up at night, the thing that intrigued her curious mind.

LITTLE DID SHE KNOW THE PATH WOULD BE MADE CLEAR AND EVERYTHING SHE NEEDED WOULD BE GIVEN TO HER.

In 2016, Morgan was connected with a lady named Allison. Allison started her own company at age 16 and had been in business for over 20 years. Morgan became her personal assistant, deciding she would do just about anything to spend 40 hours a week learning about food manufacturing, food safety, food business, packaging, distributing, shipping, and more. Still to this day, Granarly is manufactured at Allison’s food manufacturing plant and continues to be one of her valuable mentors.

After starting acai bowl bars at Farmer’s Market and selling pounds of Granarly every weekend, it was time to move to a new city and give this whole thing a whirl. Morgan and Shelby, pictured above, purchased Oatis, their trusty 1984 Scotsman Camper, renovated him inside and out, and hit the road to compete in their first ever Food Truck Festival in Austin, TX! They moved to Austin on a Saturday in 2017, were on the news the following Tuesday, and competed in the Food Truck Competition that Friday. Let’s just say Austin welcomed them with open arms!
