The taco-shaped cookie, known today as the mexican fortune cookie was invented in 1994 by Isidro "Sid" Martinez of San Antonio, Texas. A U.S. Patent was granted on this product in 1999. Introduction of product started out targeting local restaurants. Then orders started coming in from many restaurateurs by 'word of mouth' nationally. Attending Major Food Shows the product was immediately validated. Numerous media articles followed placing the product /company on the map.
