Brawley's Foods

It started years ago when Chef Wayne Brawley’s mother Donna Burton acquired 50 pounds of tomatoes. Not knowing what to do with the tomatoes, Wayne decided to roast half of them and make salsa. He never suspected that it would be such a hit with family and friends. Wayne’s brother Wes was especially fond of Wayne’s salsa and stopped buying other salsas at the grocery store he would simply ask for more of Wayne’s salsa. He liked it so much that he told Wayne it he should be sold in local stores but being a chef in restaurants, Wayne never had time to pursue the idea.

In 2004, after losing Wes to a rare lung disease, Wayne decided to enter his salsa as an amateur in two salsa competitions in honor of his brother. He won first place in both of them. Seeing this as a good sign from his late brother, Wayne took the difficult steps necessary to start commercially producing 2 Brothers Salsa. His mother Donna and stepdad Roger built a commercial kitchen on their property and the three of them began the process of food manufacturing together.

In Texas, they do two things well: play football and make salsa. 2 Brothers Salsa from Brawley’s Foods, LLC upholds that tradition with their award winning line of salsa. 2 Brothers Salsa is made with the salsa and food lover in mind. They keep their ingredients very simple with no artificial ingredients, preservatives, or flavor enhancers, and they use only the freshest produce, spices and seasonings. 2 Brothers Fire Roasted Chipotle Salsa is available in mild, medium or hot. It is perfect for chips or as a side dish. The unique flavor and consistency will enhance most any recipe. Once you taste 2 Brothers Salsa, you will find all others lacking in taste, flavor and that special “bite” only found in their fire roasted salsa. 2 Brothers Salsa is being used by restaurants, food services, caterers and food lovers nationwide and is a proud member of “Go Texan”—a marketing initiative sponsored by the Texas Department of Agriculture, whose purpose is to encourage consumers (both within and outside the state of Texas) to seek and purchase Texas-made products. It can be purchased at upscale grocery stores, gourmet and specialty retailers, gift and gift basket retailers, in food catalogs and online.

We know that Wes would be proud of our salsa and the family business that started because of his early encouragement of his brother Chef Wayne and his culinary talents.
